During the #FASTAfrica Action week (May 1-7) groups across the continent are drawing attention to Internet rights and access issues.

Day five of #FASTAfrica happens to be on African World Heritage Day something that connects with the need for more local content and languages on the Web, and more access and affordability for all.

Today’s events include, a discussion on safer Internet for women with iHub in Kenya, an Internet advocacy visit to the Federal Ministry of Communications Technology by The Centre for Information Technology and Development (CITAD) in Nigeria, and a high school classroom presentation with policy officials to demonstrate the possibilities of FAST Internet with Strathmore University Centre for IP and It Law (CIPIT) also in Kenya. Web We Want hosted a #FASTAfrica Twitter chat with respected blogger and ICT rights activist Steve Song on African Spectrum.
