Written by Web We Want

The Web We Want will be a central part of the 2014 Edition of CEU Summer School on Advocacy, Activism and the Internet. The campaign director is joining the Central European University Faculty to share with participants from up to 25 different countries. This intensive summer course brings together a broadly international group of researchers, policy advocates, technologists and human rights activists to gain new insights into the role which civil society can play in advocating for a free and open internet. Sessions will highlight the potential of technology and online tools for mobilizing and organizing constituencies in support of an open Internet and for enhancing the security and privacy of online communication.

The participants wil engage in a series of talks and a final ¨Activism Experimentation Lab¨ to design a ¨Web We Want¨ campaign around issues involving internet law and policy, freedom of expression and open internet advocacy strategies, tools for digital security and privacy, and human rights and communication policy.

Follow the hashtag #CMCS14 to engage in conversations with the students!
