We want FAST Internet for all of Africa! During the #FASTAfrica Action week (May 1-7) organisations across the continent are hosting events and drawing attention to Internet rights and access issues, suggesting solutions and pushing for change locally and regionally. This calendar of events includes grantees of the Web Foundation and everyone else who registered their event through this form or in comments below.

The Centre for Information Technology and Development (CITAD) will visit the Federal Ministry of Communications Technology, 15 service providers, the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Legislative Committees on Communication/Technology and the Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC) to lobby for FAST Internet, and demand that the NCC be more proactive about breach of quality by ISPs. The visits will also be used to secure the participation of ISPs in a future stakeholder meeting to deliberate on strategies for free speech and Internet affordability.
