Grantee Project

USD $2,000

Red en Defensa de los Derechos Digitales, an emerging organisation in Mexico, is using this Rapid Response grant to produce graphic and audiovisual materials for a digital rights campaign to propose an alternative to a proposed Telecommunications Law. This includes videos, infographics and other material that explains in a clear and fresh way the threats to freedom of expression, privacy and access to culture posed by the Telecommunications Law proposal, the copyright enforcement amendments proposal and the Trans-Pacific Partnership in Mexico. A Website for the campaign was already launched and the activists have mobilized unprecent number of citizens demanding the respect of their human rights in the digital environment

They have also launched an online petition.
